No-More-White-Pants Weekend
My Labor Day Weekend started off at Silk City on Wednesday night and continued at Sugar Moms last night. Both are really neat bars/clubs in Philadelphia.
When we showed up at Silk at 10 p.m. the dance floor was empty and there was not a DJ in sight, but by the time we headed home at 2 a.m. I couldn't separate my own feet from the five people surrounding me, it was that crowded. Basically, the whole night was a lot of fun. A diner mixed in with a dance club, not to mention $2 PBR's...what could be better?
Last night was First Friday in Philly so a bunch of us scoped out the street art, open galleries, furniture boutiques, and exhibits going on in Olde City. I was surprised by how diverse and eclectic the range of art was and also how well-executed the entire thing was. My favorite things were the $2 John Denver LP I spotted in a really cool music store, and the Ben Volta canvases featured at the Pentimenti gallery. My ignorance was realized when I discovered Philadelphia actually had a significant amount of cultural influence to offer.

Less Than Three Designs
I don't know why I didn't enter the blogging community sooner, because now that I have a blog I'm finding out that tons of my friends have had them for years, unbeknownst to me. I guess we've all been keeping them to ourselves, because let's face it, there is a bit of a stigma about people that spend time on their computers blogging about stuff they like. However, alot of my friends use their blogs as a way of getting their creativity out there, such as posting their graphic or industrial design work or showcasing their photography, art or music. Having a blog is like having your own interactive multidimensional resume. It spans beyond just talking about what you can do to actually letting employees see your work. Pretty great.
That said, my friend Cheryl is an amazing photographer and I was really happy when I stumbled upon her wordpress blog today. It's called Less Than Three Designs...check it out. I also just featured her outfit on my style blog :)

Finger In The Socket!
Fellow PhilaU kids Soraya and best friend Siminetta have been blogging since last year and their blog is one of the best I've seen.
