Hey, I am back on the world wide web again after a short fall off of the tracks. Upon entering our new digs located in Ho Chi Minh I reluctantly signed back into my email account and unsuccessfully tried to access my Facebook account (the site is blocked here in Vietnam) and then realized there was ONE thing that I was actually excited to start paying attention to again via the computer : my beloved blog.
I am just getting a taste of what Saigon has to offer and so far this place is a little slice of paradise. A small but explosive city with more than its fair share of adorable hole-in-the-wall French looking cafes where poets and writers still park themselves at corner tables to dish out their delicate prose over cups of black coffee while the afternoon rain drips lazily from awnings and the air smells of spring, as if out of some beautiful dream of Paris in the 60's. I tried a Vietnamese black coffee with milk today and actually enjoyed it! I try to drink coffee sparingly but I knew I'd have to indulge in the caffeine today just to get the curiosity for this traditional beverage out of my system. Only, now I can't stop thinking about it...
Tomorrow I will be exploring more and taking lots of photographs- just not sure if I can upload anything onto my computer until my hard drive stops ignoring my pleas for more space to magically appear.
Until next time,
J
