want:need

yes, bifocals and waffles with ice cream...at the same time.

hair/shoes/shirt!

most adorable thing ever.

This hurts my feelings.

Self-improvement 101:

1. Master the art of making sushi

2. Read the dictionary

3. Learn to speak French (conversationally)

4. Call my grandmother more often

5. Stop worrying (ha...)

6. Send more thank-you cards

7. Learn to love dogs as much as cats

Got any suggestions?
I feel slightly awkward admitting this, but Lights is my current musical obsession.
Its all trance-y disco-beat synth-heavy melodies with this high-pitched female vocal riding over everything. Its the kind of music I imagine would be playing if I were surfing in Australia.

creative genius.

So, I took a brief hiatus.
I'm back.
It feels good to be blogging again.
When I take unintended breaks from blogging I start feeling antsy, like I'm missing out on something really great.

Probably because I am.

Above: some really pretty breakfast tables, via design sponge

A traditional breakfast(morgenmad)in Copenhagen can consist of buttered bread, Danish pastry (there is actually no such thing, it is properly called wienerbrød), strawberry jam, sometimes a cold-cut meat like salami or rullepølse, or yogurt with crumbled oats or corn flakes on top. Oh, and lots and lots of coffee.
I've been eating the yogurt and oats every morning without the coffee (I've stopped drinking it, gasp!) but this morning I had a craving for eggs. Just eggs. Isn't it weird how something can seem so essential to one person and completely unnecessary to another?

The city that smiles together, stays together :)

København is turning me into a meat lover.
If you've never tried a traditional Danish frankfurter, you haven't lived. I don't know what they put it these delicious concoctions...but lets just say I've been too busy scoping out street food carts to stay inside blogging about them. The frankfurter is served steaming hot sandwiched between a warm bun and topped with fried onions, regular onions, seasoned pickles, mustard, ketchup, and some other sauce that I assume is their coveted version of crack because it makes me want to lick all of my fingers for extra globs of it.
As if it comes as a surprise, I love it here. I'm with my two best friends and we're loving exploring this picturesque city together.
The people here are known for their quiet demeanors, happy dispositions, and relaxed way of life. It isn't a stereotype. Everyone is polite, nobody steals, and people really do leave their babies in prams outside on the street. Not to mention they are so healthy because of the amount of bike riding they do here - automobiles account for only 12% of all transportation! I took part in this adorable phenonemon by renting a bike yesterday and making use of the wide bicycles lanes they provide alonsgside the cars. We even get our own stoplights! I've also been making good use of the buses and metro. I can use the same clip card for the water taxi and regional train too. This is my kind of city!
