Happy November!

As my second month in Nashville comes to a close I am reminded of how much blogging is a HUGE commitment. I completely forgot to update in the midst of working and meeting new people and soaking up everything Nashville has to offer.

I have so much to be thankful for in my life right now. Being in a new place, meeting new people and taking on bigger and better opportunities has made me so happy. I am finally feeling that feeling that I was afraid I'd never find: contentment. It might not be the kind of contentment that comes when everything in life is perfect, but this feeling comes from knowing I am exactly where I should be and nowhere else. I haven't ever experienced anything quite like this before, and I feel truly excited to know that life is only going to get better. I've found my purpose and music is all I've got on my mind 24/7.
It is as if I was trying to stray from something that comes so natural for too long and now that I've given myself full permission to embrace it I can't imagine ever living without it.

Life is good. I'm in love with everyday. I wake up and smile.

Crazy, right?

Yikes! I deserve a big FAIL for not posting anything in such a long time...with the move to Tennessee I've been on high speed trying to get myself involved in as many things as possible in Nashville and being so busy has kept me from freaking out about the huge change I just made.
However, nothing has ever felt more right. I love being here and I am learning so much everyday. How could this be wrong...when music is my JOB?!

Just saw Band of Horses FO' FREE!!!!
At Live on the Green in Public Square Park in downtown Nashville. It was a great show, Ben Bridwell totally capturing my heart with his lilting velvet voice that renders song lyrics into what seems to be melodious chocolate.

today I...

...made kale chips!

Um...yum.

Kale is one of the healthiest greens you could possibly eat, full of Vitamin K, A, C, B6, and managanese - not to mention every other nutrient known to man. Seriously, eat it.

Great recipe can be found here.

the sweetest!

My baby brother and sister are turning two in 2 days!
This photo was a lucky moment when I had the camera on hand...otherwise he never would have let me catch him being affectionate to his crazy sister!

This is such a wonderful idea...Outstanding in the Field is a company that tours farms all over the country in a van and serves an organic farm-fresh dinner, literally in the middle of a field, for paying guests. The photos on their website look beautiful. Nearly all of their tour dates are already sold out well into October!

fall fashion:

I love everything about this girl. Her gorgeous red hair, the chambray shirt, the black skinnies, and the boots...OMG don't get me started on those boots. All of it, I want.

I just HAD to share these photos on my blog...we were galavanting (the exact word for what we were doing) through a corn field and I suddenly saw Jackie peeking through a wall of bright green husks. These images candidly capture the special sunshine that Jackie gives to the world with her smile and wonderful disposition. She is truly a pleasure to take photographs of.

How adorable are these two sisters?

So, I'm seriously thinking about starting a photography blog purely to share my photos. This blog has become less of a platform to share the musings on my life and more of an image gallery. I still want to keep this blog to keep track of my experiences in Nasvhille (the big move is two weeks away!!!) but I think I need a proper photography website now. Look at me...taking myself all seriously ha! But in all honesty, photography is such a passion of mine and I might want to pursue it a bit further so a real site for my photos might be necessary.
I have debated -with myself as always- the possibility of taking my photography further many a time, because it seems that with free photo sharing sites and blogs like this there is such an overabundance of excellent photography from all over the world out there from people who take superior photos and just put them out there to be enjoyed and shared, rather than rationed through exclusive galleries. I've only been loving photography for a few years and using legitimate equipment for 3 months, so who am I to assume that I'm good enough?
Then that voice comes along, belonging to the confident devil (angel?) on my shoulder, and it pipes up- rightfully so- and says, "quit being a jerk and just do it."

Bless that devil.

fresh.

"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." - When Harry Met Sally

fall festivities!

A sunny day started with a trip to Johnson's Corner Farm for apple picking and hot cider doughnuts...

...ended with sweet glasses of white wine and delicious slices of decadent cheeses.

Perfect days are all about the simple details.
