Eco-Chic Wearable Shelter? Yes, Please.

Asked to construct a wearable solution for a hypothetical post-disaster situation in a metropolitan area, three students from Philadelphia's University of the Arts came up with the"Wearable Shelter". The concept is meant to provide warmth and protection from the elements as eco-chic apparel while also transforming into a liveable protective space.

"Their solution: three durable, watertight, and wind-resistant garments that are lightweight enough for everyday wear yet easily convertible into tents or sleeping bags that can brave the elements. Constructed from repurposed thrift-store sleeping bags, exercise clothing, and performance jackets, the “Wearable Shelter” pieces act as protective all-weather gear in the day and insulating shelter at night." - Ecouterre magazine
